A bit of it

  • How do I know who is a good coach, and who is a bullshitter? Do I have to ask for a certification?

Coaching as opposed to the therapy market is not as regulated. And this is something perceived as a problem on both sides of the market place. The clients and the coaches, the certified coaches themselves that go through training, certification process… who is a good coach and who is not? I think it’s really about chemistry. I have a team of coaches myself, and many executives that I know also have the teams of coaches. That’s usually a yoga teacher, and then let’s say a business coach, a leadership coach. A new trend that’s been boiling up for some time is kind of highly specialized coaches. So let’s say leadership coach for a technical talent, or an accounting career coach, and so on.

There is no kind of silver lining in this industry. You have to really evaluate what you are looking for, and then, based on that, you have to evaluate several dates points about what’s possible in terms of approaches, modalities, and so on. Different holistic modalities are called healing arts in a holistic world, same as coaching — coaching is an art. There is a linear prescription. It’s more about a co-creation, figuring out the process that would work for you during the process itself.

During the interview Victoria asked Alina a question from the Future of Wellness team: If you could create your digital twin, what wellbeing skills would you have?
To stress less or eliminate the whole stress capacity from my body. Stress is a disaster for us.
— Alina Trigubenko, co-founder of Awarenow.
